Jay Grinelli presents
“Mr. Lucky”
The music “flows from noirish exotica to blistering soul-jazz,”
writes Down Beat. “A pure group effortŠthat alternates between hot
and cool and is consistently engaging.”
Continuing its quest to spread love and booty movin’ music, J. A.
Granelli & Mr. Lucky pervades the North East in their “Gigantic”
Tour, October 2003, supporting the release of their new recording on
Love Slave Records, Gigantic.
J. A. Granelli & Mr. Lucky delivers grooving and
introspective playing that goes from pin drop quiet to bone crushing
intensity in the blink of an eye. The Village Voice proclaimed the
quartet, led by versatile bassist, composer, and new music siren J A
Granelli, as “coordinating smarts and cheez into fun-prov ala Sex
Mob” and Bass Player bubbled “Granelli’s quartet grooves with
infectiously buoyant interplay.”
The tour supports the Spring 2003 US release of Gigantic, a
CD which combines elements of jazz, blues, “old school” R&B, country,
reggae and good ol’ organ grinder funk, trailblazing a new path into
modern music and “Americana Jazz” in Mr Lucky’s glacial takeover of
the hearts and minds of good music lovers everywhere.
