“Expect stream-of-consciousness improvisations.” - The Village Voice
“An interesting trio showcase of mixed playing concepts.” - All About Jazz
“Dance, Millipede” is a low-tech performative animation inspired by the music of A.C. Unit. Borrowing from the traditions of Indonesian Shadow Theatre and American Vaudeville theatre set design, “Dance, Millipede” consists of five vignettes of cataclysmic events ravaging an urban colony, the violence taking on the guise of a Godzilla-type monster, government beaurocrat, breathing cavern. Imagery, sourced from television news, becomes mythified, a low-fi fetishizing of the cathode ray tube and an organic embodiment of the fear culture propagated by the American News media.
“Dance, Millipede” is a production of Brian Zegeer and Siovahn McBride, they operate out of Philadelphia.
