La Citrate presents “Women in the mirror are closer than they appear”
January 15th – January 31th
Opening reception : Saturday, January 22nd, 3-6 pm :

La Citrate will be joined by friends for a live performance.
La Citrate is a French multimedia artistic group that promotes art as an interactive exchange between artists and the audience. This January, it introduces the new work of two French artists who lives in Cambridge through a photographic and sound installation “Women in the mirror are closer than they appear”.
The complementary artistic approach of the exhibit lies in the Duality of Women through Carine Saüt’s photographs, in conjunction with the interpretation of this theme through Fraction’s music. Electronic beats and sequences, evocative black & white images, and interactive tools bring together an atmosphere that the audience can appropriate; an atmosphere that evolves as the public moves around the installation.
Fraction divides his time between electronic music production, collaborating with French musicians (remix), and playing with his band, Mary Lake, which has just released its second album in France. He is currently working on new tracks for his first solo album.
Carine Saüt began experimenting with photography over fifteen years ago. She rapidly acquired a very personal style. Her photographs incorporate a tender and humorous vision of her surroundings and of the daily lives of ordinary people. In this exhibit, she explores a new perspective, where the subjects are directed and the photographs are more raw.
Both of them are involved in the multimedia group “The Order of The Artists” founded by Ed Broms.
