Jazz pianist Kevin Harris plays a distinctive combination of traditional and contemporary Latin Jazz, performing originals plus a tantalizing range of Afro-Cuban-styled arrangements from Miles Davis and Charlie Parker to Stevie Wonder tunes. The 29 year old native Kentuckian’s own compositions range from explosive polyrhythmic pieces to introspective ballads. In the
Boston area, Harris has performed at the Wang Theatre, Ryles Jazz Club, Jordan Hall, Berklee Performance Center, Wally’s jazz club and on WGBH Radio. His music contains the varied influences of Louis Armstrong, Chopin, James Brown, Ganzalo Rubalcaba and Sting.
