“When Hippies Roamed the Earth -

Marcia Deihl Remembers”

Come hear songs of cakes melting in the rain, lesbian seagulls, anti war protests, armpit hair, and a Harvard Square that didn’t look like an open air mall for the rich. Originals and slightly used songs, including world premiers and Bizarre Song Contest winners. Cry as storefronts morph before your eyes into ugly shiny chain stores. Sigh about those the 75 cent dinners at the Orson Welles restaurant after hours. Yell out your favorite ghosts of Cambridge past. And laugh as one MUBBIE (Middle Aged Urban Bohemian) tries to stay sane amidst a capitalist/sitcom culture.

Marcia Deihl has been a folk musician in the Cambridge/Boston area for thirty years. She played with the feminist New Harmony Sisterhood Band (70s), the old-timey Bunker Mountain Fiddlers, the bluegress/street band Otis Grove, and political satire groups Cowfolks’ Dream The Oxymorons.

[Marcia Deihl on vocals, electric keyboard, and guitar]
