AUDREY CHEN – cello & vocal
Classically trained cellist and vocalist Audrey Chen has suddenly become a major fixture of Baltimore’s vital experimental music scene, contributing tremendously to a wide range of concerts and collaborations. A fiery player with a wide range of sounds and approaches, she is the newest member of the Red Room Collective, and most recently been forging collaborations with dancers.
LINDA AUBRY – harp & electronics
Linda Gale Aubry’s first instrument as a child was an egg slicer. Her earliest memories include being fascinated with the sound of humming transformers, birds, and the distant sound of the television which she references through her harp and electronics. Aubry studied music at Berklee, Boston Conservatory and Bennington but has developed a career in visual arts. As Ambrosia Porcelain, Linda and her mother Miriam create handmade and hand-painted porcelain pieces.
KATT HERNANDEZ – violin
Katt started playing violin because a neighbor had one lying around. She wanted to be a Medieval Bard, but upon finding out there were no more troubadors in France, settled for being a maverick improviser instead. She draws electronic-like sounds from her completely acoustic violin, and works extensively with microtonality, drawn from a study of a mixture of sources. She’s lived here seven years, and plays in a dizzyingly wide array of musical configurations.
