KNOW TRIO seeks a new music on the boundaries of chamber music, jazz, and free improvisation. Blending and overlapping genres, Know Trio has a penchant for absurdist humor, spoken word, and performance art. Their music explores the unexpected beauty in the juxtaposition of contrasting ideas, and searches for meaningful expression in a contemporary idiom.
GARY FIELDMAN, percussion, has performed with Joanne Brackeen, David Liebman, Bill Frisell, Ben Monder and Bevan Manson, and has recorded with Don Byron and George Garzone. He has recorded for labels such as Biba, Sachimay, Telepathy, Blue Pantry, and Rotary.
IMA JONSDOTTIR, violin, has performed with The Klezmer Conservatory Band and the Plymouth Philharmonic, and has toured with bassist/composer Mark Dresser and fellow Icelander Bjork.
DAN SHAUD, horn, has played with the Boston Philharmonic, Ernesto Klar’s Klaresque Ensemble, and with members of the Bang on a Can All-Stars.
JUNKO SIMONS, cello, has performed with the Green Bay Symphony, the Milwaukee Ballet Orchestra, and is a member of Longitude, a new music ensemble at Longy School of
