This trio is an extension of the Siwula/Lane duet on the Cadence Jazz cd Tandem Rivers….
new music /old music?… improvised music seems to be able to cross genres and generations..
This trio does that and more…Blaise Siwula has been making improvised music for several decades with composers/musicians such as Cecil Taylor, Tan Dun and Peter Kowald…Adam Lane has been composing and performing with players such as John Tchicai and Herb Robertson while Ravi Padmanabha has redefined his studies in Indian music into a unique Free Jazz approach and has worked with Daniel Carter, Tom Chess, Drew Gress, Joseph Jarman, Peter Kowald, Pauline Oliveros, and Sabir Marteen.
