Hilliard “Hill” Greene has been acclaimed for composing and performing solo
contrabass music since 1984 throughout North and South America, Europe, and
Asia and on national television (Sessions At West 54th). He is currently
musical director for the legendary jazz vocalist Jimmy Scott and his
supporting group, The Jazz Expressions

Hill Greene has also performed with other internationally renown artists or
groups including: Gloria Lynne; Jacky Terrasson; The Inkspots; Jimmy Ponder;
Eddie Gladden; Venessa Rubin; Yoron Israel; Cindy Blackman; Charles Gayle;
Jack Walrath; Don Pullen; Dave Douglas; Bobby Watson; Kenny Barron.
He is a faculty member at The Bass Collective, New York City. Lecturer and
Master Class Instructor at University of Northern Iowa and University of
Texas at Austin.
He was educated at University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, IA: 1976-1979
and at Berklee College of Music, Boston, MA: 1979-1980
