Albert Steg presents
ZAMPANO’S PLAYHOUSE
vintage tv & film in blazing 16mm

2 FLEISCHER BROS CARTOONS:
-greedy humpty dumpty
-ups & downs (b. boop)
PLUS NOIR DOCS:
-CROSSROADS USA (‘50s)
-DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DOLLAR BILL (‘70s)

Tonight’s program is an eclectic mix of vintage films on the theme of the
good old American Dollar. A pair of Depression-era Fleischer Bros cartoons
(Greedy Humpty Dumpty and Betty Boop’s Ups and Downs) serve as bookends for
1950’s b/w ed films teaching kids the wonder of money and the splendors of
our banking system, a short noir drama (Crossroads USA) produced by the OIL
INDUSTRY INFORMATION COMMITTEE that points a disaffected youth in the right
direction (working at a gas station), and a famous 70’s ed film that traces
“A Day in the Life of a Dollar Bill.” Screened, as always, in lovely 16mm.
