possession: obsession

Avant-cabaret, performance
9:30 pm -
Donation: $5

possession: obsession

You own too much. So do I. Come give something away. I will too.

possession: obsession is a performance based on the truth that possession
rules our lives. A collection of dance, live music, spoken word, puppetry,
and film theatrically address the unavoidable impact of possession on
humanity.

Admission for each night is $5 or the donation of a useful item
(toiletries and men’s clothing preferred). All proceeds and donations will
go to Pine Street Inn, a Boston area not-for-profit organization dedicated
to helping men, women and children meet their basic needs for shelter and
sustenance. (www.pinestreetinn.org) Items will also be used in an
improvisational portion of the performance.

The collaborative performance involves dance and photography by Sarah Van
Buren of
Brookline, puppetry and original text by Morgan Rebane and film by
Clementine Wilson, both of the South End, sculpture by Nick Rodrigues of
Jamaica Plain, found object action by Joey Kleckner of Beverly, live music
by Roslindale resident Emma Donoghue, and vocals of Bostonian Jessie Reilly.
