initiatiating commands of implanted & caustic noise:

Levitation caused by hidden impulses manifests itself musically
by allowing time to coexist with limitless space. Clamorous clusters
unimpaired by everpresent allergic reactions interbreed to eventually
self-distruct within natural silences.

psi is a Brooklyn, NY based electro-acoustic trio featuring Jaime
Fennelly(electronics), Chris Forsyth (electric guitar), and Fritz Welch
(drums and amplified percussion). The diverse artistic backgrounds of the
members of the group (in sound-installation, music with dance, free
improvisation, etc.) have contributed to a unique ensemble sound focusing on
dispersal of time, magnified textures, and an ambiguity of originating
source sounds as compositional elements. Spontaneity serves as a crucial
catalyst for the sounds created collectively, and these individual sounds
are free to exist in and of themselves, without dependency on answers or
reactions by the other players. The time-based arrangement and co-existence
of such independent statements creates the dynamic of the music. Freedom of
individual expression combined with subservience to a group identity is the
ultimate manifestation of psi.

BIOS:

Jaime Fennelly is an electronicist, double-bassist and improviser/composer
living in Brooklyn, NY. Recently, he has been working with the collective
electro-acoustic trio, psi, (with drummer/visual artist Fritz Welch and el.
guitarist Chris Forsyth). Since 2001, Jaime has also been collaborating
with choreographer/dancer Miguel Gutierrez on several different projects
including Sabotage (their improvised duo collaboration), enter the seen, and
I succumb, the culmination of a year’s research into the pleasurable
delicacy and reckless economy of group improvisation, which will be shown at
DTW in NYC in May of 2003. Since moving back to New York two years ago,
Jaime has established a presence in both the downtown music & dance scenes.
From 2000-2002, Jaime was a member of Andrew D¹Angelo¹s quartet SQUAWNK as
well as their electronic/acoustic duo, which released Terpsichorea #2/Duets
on Falçata-Galia Recordings. Some of his other previous, current and future
