Accompanied by award winning clarinetist Todd Brunel, bassist Lajos Incze and and drummer Mark Nathanson, Lilli Lewis, will present “Afro Hues - An Exhibition of Afro-American Art Song.” The evening hinges upon the Negro Spirituals and their impact on 150 years of American music including blues, gospel, jazz, classical and other more contemporary idioms. The concert will feature original music alongside works by Cuban percussionist Mongo Santamaria, classical composer Leslie Adams, and Sweet Honey in the Rock veterans Bernice Johnson-Reagon and Ysaye Maria Barnwell.

New England area favorite and “Boston Best” jazz vocalist Patrice Williamson will be joined by multi-talented guitarist and composer Eric Byers for an intimate concert opening set inspired by the collaborations of Ella Fitzgerald and Joe Pass.
